Check out these sweet skates Jordan Greenway wore during warm ups before last night’s game:

Who is Willie O’Ree you may ask? O’Ree was the first black player to play in the NHL.

Want a better look at the skates? Here is one courtest of Akil Thomas.

According to Bauer, the skates will be auctioned off with all of the proceeds going to the Black Girl Hockey Club, a non-profit organization advocating for Black women in ice hockey. All in all a great gesture by Bauer and the NHL during Black History Month.

Bauer also posted a video going more in depth into the inspiration behind the skates, and had several players talk about what it means to wear the skates. Awesome, awesome stuff.

Well done all around.
