1.) Kevin Fiala, MIN
It’s safe to say Fiala is “en fuego” right now. Two more goals tonight, including an elusive Power Play goal, and turning down an opportunity for a hat trick in favor of a better shot. Fiala exploded past the Ducks and John Gibson in just a pure show of speed and power. The slow start that we saw scoring wise from Fiala is DEFINITELY over.
2.) Jonas Brodin, MIN
Brodin, fresh off the COVID-19 protocol list, didn’t miss a beat the ENTIRE night. He doesn’t have to do anything in particular to assert his dominance every game. The defense just looked much more comfortable with everybody slotted into their normal roles. Oh and to completely contradict my previous point, Brodin did plenty throughout the game to frustrate the Ducks .
3.) Kirill Kaprizov
There were a lot of worthy players for the third star tonight, but I’m going with Kaprizov because of a highlight you will see later. Kirill had his first multi-point game since opening night, and both assists were gorgeous. As the Wild offense gets back to full strength, Kaprizov doesn’t have to do as much, and his facilitator skills might be just as good as his scoring ability. I mean LOOK AT THIS PASS. Absolutely insane.
